Jessica Chole, Bread Queen

Five years ago, Jessica’s adventurous spirit brought her to Philadelphia from her sunny hometown of San Luis Obispo, California. After settling into her new South Philly apartment, Jess began exploring the city of brotherly love and quickly learned one inportant thing that would shape her next few years. Philadelphia is a food town. From burgers and microbrews to artisan breads and local cheeses, Jessica immersed herself in the delicious and the new.
Jessica started working at our 19th Street shop just a few months after she arrived to the east coast. She was quickly appointed a shift leader and took on just about every responsibility at Metro during her five year reign behind the counter. Outside of work, Jess enrolled at the Community College of Philadelphia. After completing the necessary courses there, Temple University accepted her into their honors program. After working part-time at Metro, assisting in several research labs and interning with Drexel University’s top neuroscience team, Jess graduated with honors and distinction from Temple University on May 10th, 2012 with a bachelor of science in neuroscience and a minor in psychology.

In just a few short days, Jessica is moving back to southern California with her best friend Blue (that adorable pup you see above). With her parents, sisters and boyfriend waiting in CA with open arms, we at Metro begin a new chapter without the blue eyed beauty. Although she will be missed by employees and customers alike, she returns to the west coast with not only a college degree, but a title of royalty. Now and forever, we hereby dub her Bread Queen.
